The Golf Rangefinder

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what The Golf Rangefinder collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. It records things like the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, your device and browser, and the site that referred you. We have no interest in identifying individual readers and do not try to.

Search Console. Google Search Console tells us which search queries lead to this site. This data reaches us aggregated; we cannot see who searched.

Server logs and security. Our host and our security plugin record IP addresses and request details to block attacks and abuse. These logs are kept for a limited period and are not used for marketing.

Anti-spam. If you submit a form or comment, an anti-spam service processes the submission — including your IP address and the content — to decide whether it is spam.

Email. If you subscribe to price alerts, we store the email address you give us and use it only to send those alerts. Every message contains an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes you from the list.

Cookies

Analytics cookies are set by Google. Affiliate cookies are set by the merchant when you click through to their site — that is how they know a visitor came from here. Our host may set a cookie to serve cached pages faster. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell data to anyone.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them will not break anything on this site.

Affiliate links

Clicking an affiliate link takes you to a third-party retailer whose own privacy policy then applies. We receive only aggregated reporting — that a sale happened, and its value. We never see your name, address or payment details. See the affiliate disclosure for the commercial side of this.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to object to how we use it. Ask us through the contact page and we will respond.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, Google publishes a browser add-on for the purpose.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
